Artistic Roller Skating - double jumps

Question
Hiya (another question xD),
I've been out of competitive skating for some time now, but I've been going back doing regular skating sessions and practicing my basic single jumps, upright spins and parallels. They're all fine, but I'm a bit tentative about trying axels and double jumps again, although in the past I was able to land them cleanly and sometimes in combination.
I was wondering if you could give me any advice on take-off, rotation and landing techniques as an overview, as I'm a tad rusty and I'd really love to be able to do them again. Most the problem does lie in my lack of confidence, but also, I have grown a lot and my figure has naturally changed. But either way, do you think you could please give me some tips on how to perform successful double jumps? A list of each particular jump and tips for it would be great! But I really don't want to ask too much, I know you all work very hard.
Thank you for your time!

Answer
Hi Jo,
I wish I could be of some help but I only teach dance and figures.  I've checked around the internet and can't seem to find an specific overviews of any jumps or spins but I did find a couple videos that might be helpful.

Here's a page where you can see an axel, double loop etc.

I would imagine if you searched on youtube.com you would be able to find more videos.  If I find any more info I'll pass it along to you.

You may want to consider taking a couple private lessons from a freestyle coach at a local roller rink.  Even though you skated in the past, this might be the quickest and safest way to get your skills and confidence back up.

I've never looked but are there any freestyle coaches on the AllExperts web site?  Even an ice coach would be able to help you.

I'm sorry I couldn't be more help.  Good Luck....I'm sure you'll get your skills back.

Pat
