QUESTION: Hi ,
I have fitted the ceramic bearings but if I tighten the screw after fitting wheel it does not move very fast when I revolve with my hand , if I keep the screw loose the wheels move fast but while skating the wheel comes out. Kindly suggest what should be done. Also my kid was earlier using 80 MM wheel now with 84 mm he does not look very comfortable.

Answer
CK,
I believe your son asked the same question, basically, which I answered, which is why I did not respond directly to you. As I told him - it could be that the 84mm wheels are too tall & making contact with the frame - it could be that the spacers don't work with the ceramic bearings & he should try the 80mm wheels with ceramics & spacers. If it works you know it's the 84mm Wheels. If not try without spacers. He can also try the 84s with regular bearings & spacers. Switch around & try different combinations till you find the one that works. If he's on a speed skating team, he'll just have to practice till he's comfortable with the 84s or just resign himself to using the smaller wheel.
