skate turning inward

Question
I just got a decent pair of rollerblades and love them.  I have noticed that when I skate my left foot tends to slant quite a bit "/" this way...during pushing off and during gliding.  Is this due to not being laced tight enough, poor leg or foot muscles, or something else.  Any help is appreciated...

Answer
Hi Pam,

The skate will usually slant in for a couple reasons.
1)  You're feet are to far apart while pushing and gliding
2)  You're not use to the blades yet
3)  Possibly not enough support (but most likely not)

Noticing that your skate slants in is half the battle.  Just be aware of it each time your skates are on.  Keep your feet closer together and make a special effort to stay straight up on the wheels.  The more you skate the easier this will be.

Don't worry about having your feet to close...with roller blades you won't trip yourself even if your boots touch each other.  With roller skates that's a different story but with blades you'll be safe.

Good Luck........if you need help with anything else, feel free to write again.
