Question
QUESTION: hi! i have a mistral pandera long board my mast base broke and im planning on buying another mast base for my mistral pandera board with adjustable mast track. my old mast base is a mistral brand  and ive been looking everywhere to get the same mistral mast base but im getting no luck in finding one... is there any other mast base brand that would fit into my mistral pandera board? thank you very much!

ANSWER: Hey Martin,

You can get a new base here;

Remove the Mistral pin from your old base and swap it out with the threaded stud on the new base.

You may be able to use the new base without the Mistral pin if there are two holes in your mast track. One hole has the clip rods that secures the older Mistral type of mast base attachment. The other hole is a threaded hole that will accept any new threaded type mast base.

If you aren't able to make the above solution work, the last option is to remove the moving track part and turn your track into a fixed position mast track. Use the large slider nut in the link below to attach a new type base.

Hope this helps.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: wow that was quick! thank you very much for the great help! i have a follow up question, my mistral board has two holes on the adjustable track. one with the lock and one with the thread will the chinook one bolt mast base fit the thread on my mistral pandera board? also what type of base should i use? tendon mast base? mechanical mast base? or rubber mast base?

Answer
Hey Martin,

The Chinook base should thread right into the hole on your mast track.

My recommendation would be to go with the rubber joint. Tendon joints tend to not last  as long and mechanical joints have failed sooner than others. The rubber ones last many years.

Hope this helps.
