Allgaier sail board parts

2016/7/22 14:41:18

Question
I have an old allgaier system 62 magnum board. I'm looking for a new mast connection and skag. Are these parts still available?

Answer
Hey Mark,

I'm not sure I've heard of that particular board but here are a couple of things to look at to determine which direction to go. First you need to determine if the mast track and the fin box are specific to your board or, the more modern style that will accept newer style bases and fins.

The newer mast tracks and fin boxes will be a simple slot that accepts a nut in down in the track and then the stud on the mast base will screw into the nut and a small screw into the nut for the fin.

If your board has a specific base to board to connection, ie; just a couple of holes or specific type base, and your fin is not as I've described (A-box, chinook), then I'm not sure how to help you. When it comes to older boards, finding specific parts can be a challenge as many of the older companies are out of business or don't make the older parts any more.

So check out your board and if it has more modern mast track and fin box, I can give you connections to replace your base and fin.

Hope this helps.
Keep on sailing,
Windlover
