Mistral One design olympic 96 mast slide

Question
Just bought a Mistral One Design Official Olympic 96 with all rigging and 2 sails all for $50. Cool Beans! BUT we cannot figure out how to change the mast settings on the mast track. It is stuck at 9 or 185 cm and we cannot get it to move. The white lines inside the mast track do not seem to move and the spring lever close to the dagger board case does not do anything when we move it. Is there a trick? We have tried to get the mast track out of the board, but we are afraid to break something. Any help is appreciated.

Answer
Wish I could help but I am not really familiar with this board.  I would guess that the mast track is jammed.  Try to take it apart and see what is causing it to jam.  Could be sand jammed in there.  FYI there are virtually no parts available for older boards.  I always recommend buying used equipment but no older than 5 to 7 years old.  If the mast track is jammed and the mast foot is somewhat in the middle of the board don't worry about it.  The mast track is configured for competition race sailors.  All the way forward and you can only sail upwind.  All the way back and you can only sail downwind.  So if it is somewhere near the middle to back just leave it and sail it as is.
