Question
hello I have a con surfboard  vintage , it is 7'4 single fin tan discolored , large nose the bottom has what appears to be a red wish bone shape line in the fiber glass about half way across the under side from a point in the mid board to a opening to the out side rails on the tail of the board forming what looks liek agiant wishbone, 1/4 strip of basal wood down the entire boards center.single fin glassed in.

Can you tell me more about it , i was told it is a ugly but smaller for juniors, But i think it might be a vbottom not to sure , help me if you can or send me in the direction of some one with vintage knowledge thanks man

Answer
hey charles,

I wish i could be a little more help, but without actually seeing the board there isnt really much that i can tell you about it. It sounds like a typical late 70s hybrid board with a swallow tail, many boards from this era still exist although they tend to be quite beat up. Some people still swear by these boards, and they do tend to be good boards to learn on or for just going out and having fun on those 6 foot or under days. However, with the amount of progress that has been made in shaping since the 70s not many people still take these boards out, unless you are into the whole retro thing.

Hope i was able to help at least a litte.

Take it easy,

Scott
