Old Bic Part Needed

2016/7/22 14:41:55

Question
I have been using an old Bic windsurfer that I got through a friend on the lake my cottage is on for about two years now. It has worked fine for me, and I love it, but recently some friends of mine tried it out and unluckily, fell onto the sail, breaking off part of the black connector that connects the yellow mast and the board. I need to find another of these connectors - it has two parts that are both circular and slide into the board in two different holes, instead of using the bolts that the replacement part I ordered had. Where can I find a part for this old board so I can start using it again?

Answer
Hey Kati,

If you have broken the bottom part that goes into the board, I'm afraid that you may have some trouble finding a replacement part. You may be able to find some parts on ebay. It may be that you will find a complete rig similar to yours and you could have extra parts.

If the bottom part is still intact, then replacing the parts above it is not a problem. You can replace the rubber hourglass part and the mast base with newer aftermarket parts. If these are the parts that you need to replace, check out my last question and follow the links in that reply for the rubber joint and a new mast base.

Hope this will help you get back on the water.
Keep on sailing,
Windlover
