Chinook/mistral 8mm brass slider nut

Question
Hi windlover! I ordered a chinook/mistral 8mm brass slider nut for
My mistral pandera mast slider track, but i cant find any instruction on how to install it an use it on my board.... I was wondering if maybe you can teach me how to install it and use it. Thank you very much windlover!!!!

Answer
Hey Fredrick,

There will be 5-6 screws holding your mast track to the board. Remove all of them and then remove the mast track. On the end with the pedal there should be a screw or two to remove the plastic parts from the aluminum track. You may have to remove the other end or just cut the small rope in the track system to remove it. Slide the track out of the mast track. Now slide your slider nut into the track. It should go in only one way, longwise. Try attaching your mast base to verify you can get the base stud into the slider. If it works, remove the base and put the plastic parts back on each end (minus the moving track part and rope). Place the mast track back in the board and tighten all the screws. When ready to sail just get the base started into the slider and adjust the base forward or back for the conditions and tighten nice and snug. You now have a broken, moveable mast track converted into a fixed position mast track. A very inexpensive but necessary fix.

Hope this helps.
Keep on sailing,
Windlover
