Windsurfer Rig Part ?Broken Tendon (I Think?)

Question

Universal Joint
Windsurfer Rig Part ?Broken Tendon (I Think?)
Here are pictures of the broken part.  The make of the sailboard is a Hi-Fly 300.  There is a white plastic (urethane?) tubing inside the rig which is broken.  I would appreciate it if you could have a look and let me know if some thing can be done.

Answer
Hey Ismail,

This should be a fairly easy fix for you. There should be either a stud w/nut or a bolt down inside the parts that you can remove the old tendon parts from the two pieces. Then you should be able to replace it with a new universal joint.

Go here,  http://www.chinooksailing.com/products/index.php?cPath=2_76

You may need to get the tendon type but it may require modification to fit your system.

Try to get your old tendon parts off to determine what replacement part will work best for you. Be sure to use some BLUE locktight (not RED) on any threads to prevent them from loosening up. (Blue locks but is removeable, Red locks almost permanently.)

Hope this helps.
Keep on sailing,
Windlover
