i really want to windsurf!

My names Amelia and i live on a lake in Missouri. My dad sails his boats a lot but we know nothing about windsurfing? I really want to learn but i don't know any schools near Missouri. And i don't want to travel really far for a school or clinic. Do you know any windsurfing school near Missouri? and is it possible to windsurf at a medium sized lake? thanks

Hi Amelia,

I haven't been able to find much info on windsurfing in Missouri. There are a few shops that offer lessons in bordering states but I found nothing in Missouri. I would suggest that you check nearby lakes/towns that are close to you. I know that Iowa, Kansas, & Illinois all have quite a few lakes that are popular for windsurfing.

As for sailing a medium sized lake, there should be no problem. If your dad is sailing a boat, then there should be enough wind for windsurfing. I've sailed on some very small lakes, some only about 100yds wide. It's all about having some wind and water.

Be specific about the town/lake you are near so people that may have some info will know where you are.
