Walking, by itself, will not always reduce body weight. Usually, a walking program will build some muscle. If calories are not also restricted, about the same weight of fat may be lost as the muscle gained with the result that the scale says you haven't lost anything. The best plan to reduce belly size and lose weight is exercise combined with small reduction of calories eaten. This method causes a slow weight loss that can be maintained.

Specific abdominal exercises can be used to strengthen those muscles. When the abdominals are stronger, they can do a better job of holding the belly in and make you look less bulky. These exercises don't actually get rid of fat in the abdomen, even though it may look like it.

You did not mention how fast and far you walk. Faster walking can help the weight loss by allowing you to walk further in the same amount of time. Going faster can also strengthen your heart -- never a bad idea.

It is important to realize that although you have not lost any weight, your early morning strolls have improved your health. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the clarification. Your height and 85 kilos gives you a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 26, which is considered overweight. You are correct to be worried about waist size, because 40 inches further increases your risk of various diseases, including diabetes, heart disease, stroke, gout, and some forms of cancer. Your waist to hip ratio is 1.05 (should be less than 1.0), another indicator of risk.

So you do need to reduce your weight some, but redistribution of your weight is just as important. Walking alone probably will not accomplish this. A good abdominal strengthening program combined with some moderate weight lifting will be necessary.

I'm still not sure what you mean by medium speed walking, but you should walk at least 5 km / hr. At least twice per week you will benefit from pushing your speed past 6 km / hr for most of your walk. If you can afford the time, a full hour of walking would help you.

Finally, you should consult a doctor to check for other causes of your abdominal size.

Answer
There are no products that enable you to select which part of your body to reduce. This product will help you sweat, but you must replace your lost fluids or else risk damaging your health. This product is a waste of money.

Again, I recommend that you see a doctor to find out if there is some medical reason your belly is so large.
