Three wheel incumbents

2016/7/16 9:30:48

Question
I am a heart patient and ride a two wheel cruiser bike. I have a defibrillator that shocks my heart. I could possibly pass out for a few seconds while riding, which I could crash and hurt myself. I am thinking about getting a three
wheel recumbent. can you tell me the pros and cons
and are they much harder to petal than regular two wheel bike. Thanks

Answer
I really have no experience with recumbents, but I do know some people who have ridden them. While they do take some getting used to, they are really no harder to pedal. Their longer wheelbase does cause some issues with turning, but again its just a matter fo getting used to it.

I would suggest joing a bike club, especially one that has recumbent riders. Then you can find someone who might let you try it out.

Hope this helps,
Scott<>
