colt police positive special

2016/7/22 9:17:04

Question
I have a colt police positive special 38special cal. sereal number A21xxx. Any info on when it was manufactured and average values. This gun is about 90-95%. Some blueing worn on the barrel end from being holstered. Grips good, inside barrel good. Thanks

Answer
Bud,

The Police Positive was manufactured from 1905 to 1947 and is basically the same as the "New Police Model" except that it has the positive lock.

If it is numbered 21xxx it would have been produced in 1908 assuming that we have the correct model and serial numbers.

If in "good" condition it would have an approximate retail value of $250 to $300. If in "Exc." condition (you can see it I can't), then it would have an approximate retail value of $400.

I hope this helps Bud and thank you for the question.
