is it important to store bikes for the winter off the floor? is so, why?

Hello Diane,

Mostly it is for the tires, because they are wear (dry) out.
But it is also important to know if it is a bike with or without suspensions and hydraulic gear. Not important if you store them horizontally but do not hang bike with suspension or hydraulic systems vertically stored. The fluids can leak, when there is air in the system and which is going to the highest places.
