26 inch rigid fork

2016/7/16 9:28:31

Question
hello, iam wondering if you can help me find a 26-inch rigid fork for my mountain bike that is carbon or steel, and that is compatiable with front v-brakes,i have disc in the back, a fork that will closely sit like my 100-mm suspension fork,if not 100-mm the closest mm,and the fork to be in the 50-150 dollar price range, thanks

Answer
Hi Rodney,

There should be any number of standard rigid forks available in that price range from your LBS. Soma, Ramiko, and Summit all three make forks that should fit what you need. Do you know whether you need 1" or 1 1/8th in? Of course those are either steel or aluminum. The carbon ones are way out of that price range.

If you look around town, at yard sales and such you may be able to find something that will work fine for very little. I pick up whole bikes sometimes for 2-5.00 and they often have decent parts that can be used. Probably have 6 or 8 rigid forks that you cold use in my back yard.

Hope this helps.

Have a great day

Jerry
