Bicycle Frame

2016/7/16 9:30:25

Question
Hey Mike,

About my bike its not Marin Hawk Mountain its actualy Marin Hawk Hill beg ur pardon.
Anyways as i was riding the bike the frame tends to make a "creeking" sound when the bike is stressed with weight.
Is this ok does this bike has a weak frame? its very light though quite incredible.
Another thing do you know how shall i look after the bike so it could last . Like how to service the bike?

Kind Regards

Justin

Answer
Hello Justin,

The creeking sound can come out several parts like the seatpost, steer or the stem.
Further maybe the bolts from your saddle, or the seatpost clamp.
Or maybe the bottombracket!
Frame will be allright.
Service your bike is very important. But to tell you in a few steps it isn't possible.
Go to your local bike store and let him service your bike.
Ask him if you could watch him.
And there are some technical bikemagazines and books where you can find it.
But I don't know these titles of those books.

You can read some nice reviews here about your bike:

Kind regards,

Michael
