electric/recharging bike

Question
hello I posted a question to you not long ago about touring for charity, well i have started training and I'm in better shape than I had thought and I am really starting to get a taste for it, and it has got me starting to think about broader travel in europe as a holiday after the charity stint. the only problem that I have is time. I did a quick google and I am looking at around sixty days minimum, and that does not allow really for stopping and having a look around, just basically cycling, eating and sleeping not to mention the strain of constantly being on the go. plus I don't trust to be able to leave my bike in some areas.

so...
I know there are foldable bikes
and I know there are electric bikes

I was wondering if a foldable electric bike exists, and if so would be enable me to extend the distance that I travel per day and make it less of a strain. I was also wondeirng if there is something which allows you to charge your bike while you peddle.

thanks

Answer
There used to be "mopeds". These were battery powered "bikes" that could be pedaled to preserve battery life and maybe provide some charge. I believe they still exist in some areas. But I'm not real familiar with them. I put bikes in quotes because these are not bikes in the sense of a road bike, but more scooter. I vaguely recall seeing some that folded.

I would do a web search on 'mopeds' for more info.

Hope this helps,
Scott<>
