Quality bicycles

Hello, I have been riding bikes for years, but I never seriously put any thought into who makes quality bicycles. I usually ride bike paths and sometimes take my current bike (Mongoose DxR AL) off the trail, Nothing too intense. My question is, What are the top manufacturers out there? My budget is under $500.

Good brand names are Specialized, Giant, trek...

What do you want the bike to do? You can get a Giant FCR2 or FCR3 that would suit your needs. Check them out, GREAT reviews!
