Question
Dear Mike,

High its Justin again :p . Anyway mike i didnt buy that bike b'cause the bidding got a bit high for an old bike like such. But i saw this gorgeous orange colour GT Outpost 1998 model. Its steel frame and no suspension. I thought of getting this bike and upgrading it especialy with a front suspension fork. With maybe a Rox shocks or a Marzzochi. I was wondering would a suspension fork displaced the geometry of the bike and make it look funny? Do you know of anyone who have upgraded a none suspension bike to a suspension?

Kind Regards

Justin

Answer
Hello Justin,

The GT is a nice bike, and ready for an upgrade like a RS or Marzocchi suspension fork. But choose a travel from not more than 2.5 inches/6 centimers.
A longer trave will change the geometry of this bike and will change the character of the bike.
But go to the local bike store and let them advice you if it possible. In my opinion it is, but I can't see this petticular bike as well.
Maybe a change from the headset and stem.
Further it will not cost you a lot of money.

Good luck
