hight of the seat and best gear

2016/7/16 9:30:44

Question
hello
i have a 21 gear bike i just wanted to ask what woud be the ideal hight of the bike seat and my other question is what is the best gear i should use for normal biking thank you

Answer
The ideal height of the bike seat leaves a slight bend in your knee at the bottom of the stroke. You don't want to stretch the leg completely since that can cause knee damage.

What gear to use depends on you and the terrain. The key to this cadence, which is the # of revolutions of the pedals. Generally an average cadence is between 60-80 rpm. What happens is you change your gears depending on conditions to maintain the same cadence.

Hope this helps,
