grab bars

Question
I recently bought a 2002 Marin Point Reyes ( I already own a Whyte PRST 1 ),and this is the first bike I 'v e had with  grab bars on the end of the handle bar grips. This may seem like a stupid question to you, George but what is  the purpose of these grab bars? Is it so you can lean right back when pedalling ?
Not the most interesting question around, but I was wondering what you think.

Answer
Hey man,

I have a MARIN too, good choice! I think your talking about BAR ENDS (some people call em Bull horns). The purpose of these is too grab them and pump the front tire upwards just alittle when your climbing steep hills! Another use for them is to lean forward for long rides. Thats it my friend!

Hope I helped you out bud!
