115 hp OB merc stalls when pulling up skier

hi Ron - have a 95 Stingray 551 w a 115 OB Merc. usually been running fine but yesterday was stalling when throttling up to pull up a skier. using 50:1 gas mix, any ideas?

Hi James...Thank you for selecting the undersigned to reply to your question.

You didn't mention the year of your o/b mtr., so I suggest you check the owners manual, or consult a Mecury dealer for the correct mixture, because older 2 stroke engines were 50:1, whereas newer 2 stroke and most 4 strokes are usually 100:1, so long as they do not have an oil pump. Every thought of going on-line to Mercury or emailing them?
