Mercury Marine 3.0V6 225HP 2-stroke, July 1998 stalls when put into full throttle

Dear Ron, I have following problem with my Mercury Marine 3.0V6 225HP 2-stroke, manufactured July 1998. When running up to approx. 2500rpm it is working fine. When I try to take the boat up on the plane and put in on the full throttle, it shuts down/stalls. I give it 5 seconds and try to start it with no success. Another 5 seconds later the engine starts and works fine until I give it full throttle when it stalls again.

I'm not a mechanic but, I get the impression there's a problem with the carb and its electronic system. Best you consult a qualified and reliable mechanic. I ran into the same problem with a friend's boat last year, and had to hold open the butterfly valve in order to reach full speed.
