Identifying & Restoring a Vintage Corson Boat (1947-1951)
Question
MR. BLANCHET
I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN GIVEN AN OLD CORSON IT IS 14'WITH A FIBERGLASS HULL AND CEDAR DECK. IT EVEN HAD A 2007 STICKER ON IT. THE SEATS ARE IN QUESTION, THEY ARE NOT ORIGINAL TO THE BOAT. I AM LOOKING FOR PICTURES OF A SIMILAR BOAT. THE MARINA I USE IN MAINE LOOKED AT THE BOAT AND THEY BELIEVE IT TO BE A 1947 TO A 1951 MODEL. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE NEW AND PROPER SEATS FOR THE BOAT. TO KEEP IT AS ORIGINAL AS POSSIBLE, ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE??
MANY THANKS
ED
Answer
Hi Ed...Thank you for selecting the undersigned to respond to your question.
Sounds like you've come into possession of a real antique worth preserving. Although I don't know of any resources, I suggest you contact doug@boatingwithdawsons.com
Otherwise, there may be some leads in antique boat magazines.
