Canada to US Sailing: Immigration & Customs for US Citizens

I'm visiting a friend in Vancouver and am interested in sailing to Seattle for a few days. I've never sailed from one country to another, so I don't know what sort of procedures I need to observe regarding immigration and customs. Could you advise me on this? (I'm a US citizen)

Thanks for your inquiry. Although I'm not fully familiar with all of the necessary paperwork, procedures, etc., I suggest you contact my friend John Roberts (robertsj@direct.ca)in Vancouver.He's constantly on the go internationally, in particular to US destinations. I'm certain he can and will assist you.

In part, you'll require original vessel ownership & registration documents, a passport for each occupant aboard the vessel entering Canada, and perhaps proof of operator competentcy.
