Rolloing of boat.

Question
Hi, i have a 16 foot Naverone boat with 2 40HP Mariner engines.  Whilst driving in a straight line the boat rolls on its side and when i try to correct it rolls over on the other side whilst still going in a straight line.  It feels quite awkward when driving the boat.  I have tried shifting the weight on the boat but it still does the same.  Can anyone help?

Thanks Johan

Answer
Just a guess.  It is likely that you have a trim problem that is allowing more weight to the low side causing your list.  It may be that separating the motors more, will help the weight center. It could be that the top of the motors are transferring weight across the center line so you have in effect, a motor and 1/4 shifting to one side or the other.  By separated the motors, the top weight may remain each on it own side creating more balance.  This weight problem could also be a function of your fuel moving from one side or the other if the tanks are not baffled.  So separating the tanks more may also help.
