Question
hi ron
thanks for taking the time to read this,i dont know if you can answer it but i hope you can.
my problem is my chrysler 20 outboard,i gave it to a so called engine repairer and he failed and it ended up in bits.
it now runs well but i have the impeller to fit, trouble is i dont know what way it goes.
does it sit on top of the key ie the metal pin that sticks out of the shaft or does it go under the key,not sure what way the engine rotates so dont know what way to fit it on.
hope you can help.
regards
stevie

Answer
Hello Steven...Thank you for selecting the undersigned to reply to your question.

I'm not that familiar with Chrysler o/b mtrs., but I suggest you consult a qualified & reliable marine mechanic/technician for guidance. However, I believe the impeller is fitted over the key. Just be certain which way you install it, so it's not upside down. You want the impeller to draw in fresh water and circulate  throughout the powerhead for cooling purposes.
