Wet Skirt for Sit-Inside Kayaks: Do You Need One?

Not all sit-inside kayaks require a wet skirt. A wet skirt, also called a sprayskirt, is a piece of fabric that attaches to the cockpit of a kayak and helps keep water from entering the cockpit. It is typically used in rough water or when paddling in cold weather, but is not necessary for all sit-inside kayaks. For calm water paddling and warmer climates, a dry top or other water-resistant clothing may provide sufficient protection.
