jockey vigorously urging - worse pair of hands

2016/7/15 11:22:16

Question
hello sir, do you believe that a jockey who vigorously urges the horse in the final straight approaching the finish line (putting his best efforts)doesn't has good pair of hands? is he/she are ruthless towards their mount rather than showing some mercy?

Answer
HI --  WHEN YOU ARE COMING DOWN TO THE WIRE IN A RACE, YOU MUST GET EVERY OUNCE OF RUN FROM YOUR MOUNT, SO JOCKEYS DO HAVE A TENDENCY TO SHOOT DUCKS AT THE HORSE AND PUSH HIM FORWARD WITH THE SCRUBBING ACTION OF HIS HANDS AND FEET. A GOOD JOCKEY WILL TRY EVERYTHING TO WIN THE RACE.  THANKS ED HESS
