Question
rubber dexter ring bit with spoons
rubber dexter ring bit
hello sir, would you like to use a rubber dexter ring bit with spoons on two year old racing thoroughbreds? isnt the bit harsh on baby horses? actually, a trainer here at our local racetrack told the groom to bit a 2 year old thoroughbred bay colt with rubber dexter ring bit with spoons.

Answer
This bit is perfectly acceptable for young horses if they are requiring a little more than a rubber D bit. A young stronger horse may need this bit if the rider has been losing the necessary control. The rider should have gentle enough hands that he can control the horse in the ring bit without hurting him. I would not start a horse in this bit. I would only use if more control is required.
