Question
horse getting excited seeing the bend
horse getting excited
hello sir, attached an image of a horse viewed from top working on sand track which is a exercising track in the morning where it is approaching a bend roughly 50m ahead. i observed few horses getting exciting and pulling the rider before approaching the bend. my question is:

WHY FEW HORSES GET EXCITED TO RUN SEEING THE BEND?

example: here in our local right handed race track, there is a horse called VICTORY SKY. it was being worked at an easy gallop on a staight and the horse was going handy, seeing the bend which is 65m ahead, the horse got excited and started pulling the rider. rider got angry, omitted foul words and told in simple english to the horse to go slow. he said like this:

"hey . . . bloody , go slow . . . "

Answer
hi -- when you usually work a horse on the race track or the training track, there will be the break off spot when you ask the horse to start the work, that is prob why they get excited and want to take off in the while at the gallop. going into the turn is where you usually ask the horse to start to work.  they get use to that very fast. thanks ED HESS
