Which is higher, oc 80,000 or claiming 62,000. Explain OC RACES

Answer

Presque Isle Downs Cro OC 80k would be higher based on the claiming price alone, but depending on the horses entering from race to race... It's possible the OC 80k race could come up easier than the 62k. The optional claiming price allows horse who have won that allowance condition to still run against those horses if willing to run for a claiming price. Option claiming is basically two races combined to allow more horses to fill that particular race.
