How fast can thoroughbreds and quarter horses be trained to run in mph
And how long can they run for--distance?

HI -THE QUARTER HORSE IS MUCH FASTER AT A SHORT DISTANCE , BUT THE THOROUGHBRED CAN RUN AT A HIGH SPEED FOR A LONGER DISTANCE. THE BREEDING HAS A LOT TO DO WITH THE SPEED THAT THEY RUN THE RACE AT. THEY TRAIN ABOUT THE SAME, WITH GALLOPING , WORK OUTS ETC. THE HORSE IT'S SELF WILL DETERMINE JUST HOW FAST THEY CAN RUN AT ANY DISTANCE . ALL HORSES ARE DIFFERENT. THANKS ED HESS
