Question
I have a coming 2 yr old that is by a Son of Secretariat and out of a Marquetry daughter. He is currently just turned out being a colt but we are wanting to start conditioning him and get him ready to start under saddle. Where do we begin?? I also need to insure him what would you put his value at?

Answer
hi-- since you have a very well colt, you might decide to send him to a very well known  training center, with a great reputation for breaking  horses, that breaks yearlings. i know it costs a lot of money to send a yearling out to get broke, but you must think of the horses future, and the money he may win after he gets to the races. i went thru this with many owners ,and it always worked out better if they were expertly trained . ANY MAJOR INSURANCE CO, HAS HORSE INSURANCE .  hope this helps you ED HESS
