Question
Hi i wanted to ask you how  would one get their training license, and what
advice would you give for first time invester for a horse. Thanks C Kline

Answer
Hi Christine:

In order to get a trainer's license, you must pass the written test -which is usually given by the stewards at your local track.  You must then pass a barn test in which you saddle a horse, apply a tongue tie, wrap legs with vet wrap, etcetera.  I believe you must also get another licensed trainer to "sponsor" you, as well (act as a mentor).  Call your local track and ask to speak with one of the stewards, they will direct you.
