Horse Behavior: Understanding Tail Position During Galloping

tail straight   hello sir, is this horse galloping on its own as its tail is straight?

hi-- it looks to me though the horse is galloping on it's own. the rider has no hold on the horse so the horse is galloping on it's own. the tail in not straight out but looks to be flowing in the wind.  also the horse has it's ears up as it is comfortable. thanks ED HESS
