Finding my old racer

Question
Hi Don,
I bought a 23 year old retired TB race horse about 3 years ago. ive found his pedigree but cant seem to find the race records. i have already tried equineline.com but my account isnt working on there. is there any other way i could find out more about him? also, i found his original breeders name, do you think that there is any way to contact him by searching just a name? Thank you very much for your time!

Answer
Hi Tina,
I am always pleased to hear of some one prepared to give a retired TB a home and care and attention. Most old horses end up in a tin so thankyou for taking care of this bloke. He is near the end of his life as not many live beyond 25 yrs.

I live in New Zealand so am not sure of the resources available to US race enthusiasts to find racing details other than equinline. There must be data bases available to search similar to one we have for NZ, www.arion.co.nz

Ring a couple of local horse trainers and ask them, they will know, or ring the racing editor of your local racing press, he/she will know of a source.

Good luck and please let me know if you find a suitable source ([email protected])

Don Boddie
