Getting into the business

Question
Hello,
I am young 15 yrs old and love horse racing. I want to do something in the racing industry (probally training racehorses) but dont know how to get started. I dont know alot at all but I really want to learn. How do I get started and would getting  a job at a racetrack help? If so how do i get a job at a racetrack and do they have places for people working there to stay?  All help will be greatly appreciated thanks! Rachel

Answer
Graduate from high school and if there are business and aggriculture classes, take them. Check out the colleges in Kentucky and Arizona for equine courses that lead to the racing industry. There are plenty of good programs there and they will lead you to the right people and you could get hired by just about anyone at the major race tracks. I would also look for some local training centers and maybe learn to ride there or take any job they will give you. If you are a hard worker and dedicated to the horses then that will take you a long way. I hope this helps and good luck.
