Greesy Heel

Question
I have a thoroughbred mare who has had greesy heel for 3 weeks but does not seem to be improving with treatment.  What would you treat this problem with?  Advise & ointments from vet dont seem to be working. Stables and yards are dry.

Answer
hi i think you mean a cracked heel ???   with the snowy fields and snow , horses sometimes do get cracked heels from the snow and that takes time to heal. i had very good luck with vetalog ointment. put it on and cover for a few days then change dressings and re apply again till healed, unless you have a different  problem then a cracked heel . thanks ED HESS
