Hooves

Question
Hi, I have an ex racer who refuses to lift up his feet. Any tips?

Answer
Does he not do this for the farrier or you or both? Some horses you really have to lean on twist that chestnut good while pushing him with your shoulder to get him off balance. You could also try and push that hoof pick into his shin until he picks it up. Once you make him do it for you over and over again then he should realize he can't take advantage of you. I am not sure what you have already tried so if you have tried these thing then the only thing I can tell you is to get your farrier to work with him.
