Handling a Difficult Gelding: Groundwork & Behavior Modification

Question
I just bought a very rude tb gelding off the track. he is a real looker but a real monster when it comes to ground work. he hates being bruched and handled... he kicks and threatens to bite. how do I get him not to kick? he is moody 24/7.

Answer
hi  well a lot of times people do buy x race horses off the track that do have set ways. i would treat him with lots of kindness and plenty of treats. every time you do anything with him and i mean anything, please reward him with a mint or a sugar cube or anything he loves to eat.i did have one horse that had some back problems, so when i brushes him he would try to bite and kick me. if all else fails, you can have a medium come read the horse for you , as they can sense problems you cannot.  hope this helps  thanks ED HESS
