how to get started

Question
I am very new to the sport in general and I really want to get start in it.  How do I go about getting a trainer and a horse and eventually getting my horse entered into small races?  How long does this process last from buying a horse to making it race ready and what is aballpark estiamte on how much it will all cost just getting started?

Answer
I WILL START BY SAYING THAT MY COMPUTER IS NOT TAKING THE WEB BROWSER  SO THAT IS WHY I AM LATE ANSWERING YOU.  WELL YOU CAN GO TO THE RACE TRACK NEAR YOU AND SEE SOME OF THE LOCAL TRAINERS, AND ASK THEM WHAT THEY CHARGE PER DAY TO TRAIN A HORSE.  THEN YOU CAN GO TO A SALE WITH THAT TRAINER AND PICK OUT A HORSE THAT YOU CAN AFFORD AND THEN IT WILL BE UP TO YOUR TRAINER ON HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO GET THE HORSE TO RACE. YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY A MONTHLY TRAINING FEE THEN YOU WILL ALSO HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SHOEING BILLS EXTRA ,  THE VET BILLS  EXTRA ,  THE SHIPPING  OR TRAVELING COSTS EXTRA, A BALL PARK FIGURE YOU WILL HAVE TO TALK WITH YOUR TRAINER ABOUT THAT. IT IS NOT CHEAP TO OWN A RACE HORSE. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU  THNAKS ed hess
