marathon jitters?

2016/7/22 10:06:32

Question
I just completed my last long run of 20 miles last Saturday and am now in the taper weeks before the marathon.  I've done a 20 miler 3 times, and everything seems to go okay until about mile 17.  After that, it seems like such a struggle.  I am grateful when I hit the 20-mile mark and can stop running, but I am really nervous on how I will be able to continue another 6 come race day.
I also have a knot in my calf that is killing me and I am trying to work out and stretch, but this is making me really nervous as well.

Answer
Hi Diane
I don't know what your question is specifically other than your calf and jitters, but i would say if you would really like me to help you and advise you on what to do leading up to the race with your taper and calf situation i would be very happy to handle this.Time and every day is critical at this point in your final preparation so what i recommend is call me here in albuquerque Nm any time from 6am on... so we can get you organized and healthy.Go to my web site for contact page for number and if i don't answer just leave a number where and a good time i can get back to you.

All the best

John
