Question
Hello Mr Dehart,  You have recommended an upright stationary bike for those who have chondromalacia.  Is there a specific upright stationary bike you could recommend?  Also, why is a regular bicycle not a good choice?  Please reply.  Thank you, Joe.

Answer
Hi Joe
The rolls royce of stationary bikes is a cybex which will cost you about $2600.00 and it is worth every penny if you can afford, but will last you for life.2nd tear you will have to spend about 700 to a 1000 to get a good quality which will last many years.I have a client that has one he paid about 1000.00 for and loves it. If you get back to me i will talk to him tomorrow and find out which one it is.You can contact me threw my web site contact page.A regular bike is ok for just good fun riding and nothing wrong with riding, but for rehabbing you need very precise positioning  and control of resistance and continues control of rpm to insure of the proper tracking and alignment of the muscular skeleton situation. If you want to look at a few bikes and get back to me i will then give you my thoughts. You can also call me any time to save time here in albuquerque.

All the best

John
