tightness in the back of knee

2016/7/22 10:07:41

Question
I am a basketball referee. As I was refereeing somes games a month ago, the back of my knee starting to feel tight. After another day or two of games, I could barely straighten out me knee. There ws some pain, but nothing too bad. Now there is no pain, but it comes back every once in a while. I have lost 70+ pounds in the last few months so I don't think that is the major issue.

Answer
Hi Dave
I think the culprit could be the plantaris muscle, but there are many more tendons and muscles in close proximity so i would work on light stretching all over the back of leg and also i would start gradually doing some leg curls and leg extensions. You do a lot of very explosive directional movements on the court and if that is a week link it could easily become a major injury in a split second for lack of addressing this situation now.Take this seriously Dave.

All the best

John
