Foot pain during runs

2016/7/22 10:07:52

Question
Anywhere between 5 and 10km into a run I develop a pain on the top outside part of my foot.  I have had an Xray and have been to a sports med doctor.  He assured me that my foot was fine and to keep running.  When the pain starts its almost easier to keep running than to stop and walk.  I feel the pain most significantly when I raise my toes to take a step.  10 minutes or so after my run is done the pain goes away.  I ran a half a few months ago and the pain lasted about two days.  Any thoughts on what this could be or what I could do to get rid of it.  I have tried changing the lacing pattern on my shoes, I have tried Advil and a topical pain ointment, nothing seems to help.  My main concern is that I might be causing permanent damage.
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Kathy
It seems to me it could be your shoes are to tight and there is not enough room for your foot to spread on foot plant width and toe box.check that out closely.Don' use meds they just mask what your trying to fix.If you have other questions Kathy just get in touch and let me know those shoes are.

all the best

John
