Heel pain

2016/7/22 10:10:01

Question
Im 38 yrs old and have been running most of my adult life. I've picked up the pace this past year. As of 3-15-08 I am at 110 miles for the year. I run four times a week. My usual trip is 2.3 miles outside and 1 mile inside on the treadmill at an incline. Sometimes I will run 3.1 to 4 miles outside. I have an approximate speed of 10 min mile. In your opinion, is this too much or not enough? I've developed some heel pain in both feet. I have what I thought are great running shoes, asics 2120. I have a goal of 400 miles for this year. Is this too much or not enough?I appreciate your time and advice. Thank you.

Answer
If your goal is to run 400 miles you will make your goal at this rate. As far as speed being too much or not enough..it depends on your goals. 10 minute miling isn't exactly burning rubber so you should be fine. The hell pain could be from the shoes not being right. Go to a running store and get fit by a specialist.
