Question
Rick
I want to start running again as I believe its the best exercise for losing weight.
I am pretty shy about running outside and besides it freezing where I live not to mention the sidewalks are icey
so.... I was thinking treadmill.
I had one before that I got used but the motor burnt out on it.
I see lots of manual ones for sale and was thinking about getting one, however, all the experts say to avoid them.
Why?

Answer
Manual ones are better for walking because of the slower speeds of walking.  trying to run a manual treadmill will leave you susceptible to injury, not to mention the treadmill becoming worn down very quickly because of the jarring that occurs with running.
