-------------------------Well...lets see I used to run about an hour aday three day a week. 2 minute warm up, 2 min on 4.5 and 2 min on 5, then 2 min on 3, at intervals. Then I broke my leg on some lovely ice. I gained twenty pounds! Now I'm just fed up and I went on the dreaded Atkins diet.  I have only been on it for three grueling days. I am working out every day (except weekends) for only 30 min at those same intervals and I am doing weight maintenance, nothing too heavy. You know just toning stuff (for another half hour) after the running. I am 36, I weigh 145 pound, 5'5" with a medium frame.I am partial to shin splints so Im afraid to push for more than a half hour at this time. I only take in 20 to 25 carbs a day. I'd like to keep it at 20 but I get dizzy. So if I want to feel good i eat an extra 5.  Naturally I want to run those off (the extra five).  Does this seem like something I can achieve? I will look at the girl when I am finished with this letter that they forced me to write right away.  LOL.  Thank you again, this time for responding so quickly!

HI John,
Here goes...If for every 4 calories equals 1 carb and you run off 200 calories, does that mean you have also run off 50 carbs?!  I guess I want to know how many carbs I am running off instead of calories. Is this calculation correct?

Thanks so much for your time,
Sabrina

dear sabrina
the first thing sabrina when you run your body uses carb.,,protein..fat..and you can not figure out which one is working. If you give me an idea on what your trying to accomplish and your stats like age height weight health history how much you run or walk do you life weights how long have you been training.etc etc etc then i can zero in for you.also how many days a week.if you take a look at the girl on my web site you can see my work on before and after.this was accomplished in 9 weeks.hope this helps you a bit.
the very best to you

Answer
sabrina....thanks for responding....First thing you can not micromanage your diet.this is not a way to live. You just have to get the right balance of carb.protein fat.you will know when it is right when you feel satisfied thru out the day.the dizy feeling seems to me your undereating or not getting the proper balance. You never did tell me what you wanted to acomplish.
